Presenting Reports from Interparliamentary Delegations
Pursuant to Standing Order 34(1), Mr. Keddy (South Shore—St. Margaret's) presented the report of the joint Canadian delegation of the Canada-Japan Interparliamentary Group and the Canada-China Legislative Association respecting its participation at the 15th Annual Meeting of the Asia Pacific Parliamentarians Forum (APPF), held in Moscow, Russia, from January 21 to 26, 2007. — Sessional Paper No. 8565-391-57-07.

Presenting Reports from Committees

Mr. Merrifield (Yellowhead), from the Standing Committee on Health, presented the Seventh Report of the Committee, “Healthy Weights for Healthy Kids”. — Sessional Paper No. 8510-391-196.

Pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee requested that the government table a comprehensive response.

Mr. Murphy (Charlottetown), from the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, presented the 13th Report of the Committee, “Protocol for the Appearance of Accounting Officers as Witnesses Before the Standing Commitee on Public Accounts”. — Sessional Paper No. 8510-391-197.

A copy of the relevant Minutes of Proceedings (Meetings Nos. 13, 20, 24 to 27, 30, 35, 44 and 45) was tabled.


Mr. Brown (Leeds—Grenville), from the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security, presented the Seventh Report of the Committee, “Rights, Limits, Security: A Comprehensive Review of the Anti-terrorism Act and Related Issues”. — Sessional Paper No. 8510-391-198.

Pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee requested that the government table a comprehensive response.

A copy of the relevant Minutes of Proceedings (Meeting No. 34) was tabled.


Introduction of Private Members' Bills

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Mark (Dauphin—Swan River—Marquette), seconded by Mr. Merrifield (Yellowhead), Bill C-417, An Act to establish a Memorial Wall for Canada’s fallen soldiers and peacekeepers, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.


Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Ms. Charlton (Hamilton Mountain), seconded by Ms. Wasylycia-Leis (Winnipeg North), Bill C-418, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (deductibility of remuneration), was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.
