The Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on International Trade met in camera at 3:44 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Leon Benoit, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Leon Benoit, Ron Cannan, Serge Cardin, Peter Julian and Lui Temelkovski.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Holden, Analyst; Elizabeth Kuruvila, Analyst.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure report to the Standing Committee on International Trade the following recommendations:

That, in as much as possible, amendments to Bill C-24 be submitted to the Clerk by Friday October 27, 2006, but that the final date for the submission of amendments to the Clerk be Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at 5 p.m.

That the Committee meet for one hour with a parliamentary delegation from the National Assembly of Pakistan led by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, the Hon. Chaudry Amir Hussain, which will be visiting Canada the week of November 20-24, 2006, and that the meeting be followed by a luncheon to be hosted by the Committee.

That the Committee invite trade officials from countries such as Ireland, Chile and Australia which have developed successful trade policies.

 

At 4:33 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
