The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in camera at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Paul Crête, Brian Masse, Hon. Dan McTeague, James Rajotte, Bev Shipley, Hon. Belinda Stronach, Dave Van Kesteren and Robert Vincent.

 

Acting Members present: James Bezan for Colin Carrie, Sukh Dhaliwal for Susan Kadis and Hon. John Godfrey for Hon. Jean C. Lapierre.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Analyst; Lalita Acharya, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of Challenges Facing the Canadian Manufacturing Sector.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 3:41 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:52 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to its study of Challenges Facing the Canadian Manufacturing Sector, the Committee resume consideration of its draft report from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006; that if the Committee is not finished by 2:00 p.m. the Committee resume consideration of the draft report at 5:30 p.m. and continue as late as necessary; and that the Committee invite senior officials from the Departments of Industry and Justice to appear before the Committee from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in relation to Bill C-26 (An Act to amend the Criminal Code (criminal interest rate)).

 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 6:16 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
