The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 11:06 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Brian Pallister, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Dean Del Mastro, Rick Dykstra, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. John McKay, Massimo Pacetti, Brian Pallister, Pierre A. Paquette, Thierry St-Cyr, Mike Wallace and Judy Wasylycia-Leis.

 

Acting Members present: Paul Crête for Thierry St-Cyr and Paul Szabo for Hon. Robert Thibault.

 

Other Members present: Hon. Jim Peterson and Hon. Garth Turner.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal; Alexandre Laurin, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study on Income trusts.
 

The Minister made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 11:53 a.m., Massimo Pacetti took the Chair.

 

At 11:55 a.m., Brian Pallister took the Chair.

 

At 12:11 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:14 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 1:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
