The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D Centre Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, Gary Carr, David Christopherson, Brian Fitzpatrick, Sébastien Gagnon, Mark Holland, Hon. Walt Lastewka, Benoît Sauvageau and John Williams.

 

Acting Members present: Rob Anders for Daryl Kramp.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Brian O'Neal, Analyst; Marc-André Pigeon, Analyst. House of Commons: Gregory Tardi, Senior Legal Counsel.

 

Witnesses: As Individuals: Joanne Bouvier, Former Special Assistant in Minister Gagliano's Office, Department of Public Works and Government Services; Ghislaine Ippersiel, Former Special Assistant in Minister Gagliano's Office, Department of Public Works and Government Services; Patrick Lebrun, Former Special Assistant in Minister Gagliano's Office, Department of Public Works and Government Services.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee commenced consideration of Governance and Accountability within the Federal Public Service, with an emphasis on ministerial and deputy ministerial accountability.
 

It was agreed, — That witnesses appearing in connection with this study be sworn in.

 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
