Wednesday, May 14, 2003

The Subcommittee on the Estimates Process of the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 5:40 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Co-Chair, Gerry Ritz, presiding.

Members of the Subcommittee present: Gerry Ritz, Paul Szabo, Tony Tirabassi and Tony Valeri.

Acting Member present:  Judy Sgro for Paul Szabo.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Philippe Le Goff, analyst; Jack Stilborn, analyst.

Witnesses: From the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat: David Bickerton, Executive Director, Expenditure Operations and Estimates Directorate, Comptrollership Branch; Robert J. Mellon, Director Estimates Production, Comptrollership Branch.

Pursuant to the motion of the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates adopted November 26, 2002, the Subcommittee resumed its study to inquire into matters relating to the review of the process for considering the estimates and supply.

David Bickerton made an opening statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

At 6:25 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
