The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Beth Phinney, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Paul Forseth, Roger Gaudet, Mac Harb, Val Meredith, Shawn Murphy and Beth Phinney.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis, Analyst.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Hugh McRoberts, Assistant Auditor General; Wendy Loschiuk, Principal; Anne-Marie Smith, Principal. From the Department of National Defence: Karen Ellis, Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastructure and Environment; Ginger Stones, Director General, Environment; Don Edgecombe, Director, Environmental Stewardship.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee commenced consideration of Chapter 7 (National Defence - Environmental Stewarship of Military Training and Test Areas) of the April 2003 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.
Hugh McRoberts and Karen Ellis made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 4:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
