The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:22 p.m. this day, in Room 269 West Block, the Chair, Judi Longfield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Libby Davies, Norman Doyle, Ovid Jackson, Judi Longfield, Gurbax Malhi, Larry McCormick and Suzanne Tremblay.

 

Acting Members present: Jay Hill for Larry Spencer and Brian Pallister for Monte Solberg.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Public Works and Government Services: Pierre Berthiaume, Manager, Parliamentary Relations, Communications Branch; Jack Korwin, Director, Public and Parliamentary Relations, Communications Branch.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 39(5)(b), the Committee proceeded to the consideration of the failure of the Ministry to respond to written question No. Q-233 on the Order Paper, referred to the Committee on Monday, September 15, 2003 and which read as follows: Q-233 — Mr. Hill (Prince George—Peace River) — For the fiscal years 1993-1994, 1994-1995, 1995-1996, 1996-1997, 1997-1998, 1998-1999, 1999-2000 and 2000-2001, from all departments and agencies of the government, including crown corporations and quasi- or non-governmental agencies funded by the government, and not including research and student-related grants and loans, what is the list of grants, loans, contributions and contracts awarded in the constituency of Prince George-Peace River, including the name and address of the recipient, whether or not it was competitively awarded, the date, the amount and the type of funding, and if repayable, whether or not it has been repaid?
 

Jack Korwin made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 3:48 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:49 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 4:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
