Thursday, April 3, 2003
The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Paul Bonwick, Christiane Gagnon, John Harvard, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln and Alex Shepherd.
Acting Members present: Murray Calder for John Efford and Mark Eyking for Dennis Mills.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Sam Banks and Terrence Thomas, research officers. Consultant: David Black. Expert Advisor: David Taras.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on the State of the Canadian Broadcasting System. (See Minutes of Proceedings dated November 7, 2002, meeting No. 2).
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed, - That, in relation to its Study of the Canadian Broadcasting System, the committee approve the carry-over from fiscal year 2002-2003 to the fiscal year 2003-2004 of the remaining sum set aside for the hiring of Professors Raboy and Taras as specified in the memorandum of understanding signed with the Department of Canadian Heritage.
At 10:50 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
