MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS
Meeting No. 20
Tuesday, February 11, 2003
The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in camera at 9:11 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Carole-Marie Allard, Paul Bonwick, Sarmite Bulte, Liza Frulla, Christiane Gagnon, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln, Dennis Mills, Alex Shepherd.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Sam Banks and Joseph Jackson, research officers. Intern: Janique Venne. Consultant : David Black. Expert Advisor: Marc Raboy.
The Committee proceeded to a discussion of future business.
It was agreed, - That, the Committee hold a meeting with the delegation of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation upon its arrival in Ottawa and that the Committee host a working dinner with the delegation.
It was agreed, - That, in relation to the Committee’s Study on the State of the Canadian Broadcasting System, the contract for David Black & Associates, agreed to by the Committee on Thursday, November 7, 2002 be increased in the amount of $ 15,000.00 for 25 additional days at $ 600.00 per day for an amended total amount not to exceed $ 83,400.00 up to March 31, 2003.
It was agreed, - That, in relation to the Committee’s Study on the State of the Canadian Broadcasting System, the Committee retain the professional services of David Keeble to provide further technical assistance to the Committee and to prepare “vignettes” for the report, for a total amount not to exceed $ 10,000.00 plus GST.
At 10:35 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
