The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Joe Fontana, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, John Bryden, Yvon Charbonneau, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Joe Fontana, John O'Reilly, Jerry Pickard, David Price, Lynne Yelich.
Acting Members present: Libby Davies for Judy Wasylycia-Leis and Andrew Telegdi for Massimo Pacetti.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Benjamin Dolin; Researcher.
Witnesses: From the Chinese Canadian National Council: Jonas Ma, President. As Individual: Lorne Waldman, Lawyer.
Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Friday, November 8, 2002, the
Committee resumed debate on Claude 2 consideration of Bill C-18, An Act
respecting Canadian citizenship (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday,
November 21, 2002, Meeting No. 6).
Jonas Ma made an opening statement and answered questions.
Lorne Waldman made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 12:47 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
