The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs, Northern Development and Natural Resources met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Raymond Bonin, presiding.

Member of the Committee present: Gérard Binet, Raymond Bonin, John Finlay, John Godfrey, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Inky Mark, Anita Neville, Benoît Serré, Maurice Vellacott.

Acting Member present: Dick Procter for Pat Martin.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Wednesday, October 9, 2002, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-6, An Act to establish the Canadian Centre for the Independent Resolution of First Nations Specific Claims to provide for the filing, negotiation and resolution of specific claims and to make related amendments to other Acts (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, November 26, 2002, Meeting No. 5).

Chief Lawrence Paul and Peter Barlow each made an opening statement and answered questions.

Chief Roberta Jamieson made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 5:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
