The Standing Committee on Transport and Government Operations met at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 701 La Promenade, the Chair, Ovid Jackson presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Joe Comuzzi, Bev Desjarlais, André Harvey, Ovid Jackson, Val Meredith, Marcel Proulx, Alex Shepherd, Paul Szabo.
Acting Members present: Paul Forseth for James Moore
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John Christopher; June Dewetering, Researchers.
Witnesses: From the Citizenship and Immigration Canada: Joan Atkinson, Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy and Program Development. From the Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Kathryn E. McCallion, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services, Passport and Consular Affairs; Michael J. Hutton, Chief Executive Officer, Passport Office.
In accordance with Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the current state of airline safety and security in Canada.
Joan Atkinson and Kathryn E. McCallion both made statements and, with Michael J. Hutton, answered questions.
At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
