The Standing Committee on Health met at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Bonnie Brown, Reg Alcock, Colleen Beaumier, James Lunney, Rob Merrifield, Judy Sgro, Yolande Thibeault, Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
Acting Members present: Pauline Picard for Diane Bourgeois, Bob Speller for Stan Dromisky.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier, and Sonya Norris, Research Officers.
Witness(es): From the Canadian Institute for Health Information: John Millar, Vice-President, Research and Population; Joan Rock, Privacy Secretariat. From the New Reproductive Alternatives Society: Shirley Pratten, Founding Member; Olivia Pratten. From the Coalition for an Open Model in Assisted Reproduction: Catherine Clute; Rona Achilles. As an Individual: Barry Stevens.
The Committee resumed consideration of the draft legislation on Assisted Human Reproduction. (See Minutes of Proceedings dated Thursday, May 3, 2001, Meeting No. 13).
The witnesses each made a statement and answered questions.
At 12:58 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
