The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 9:37 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Maurizio Bevilacqua, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Carolyn Bennett, Maurizio Bevilacqua, Scott Brison, Roy Cullen, Ken Epp, Albina Guarnieri, Richard Harris, John McCallum, Lorne Nystrom, Pauline Picard.
Acting Members present: Odile Desrochers for Pauline Picard.

The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-8, An Act to establish the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada and to amend certain Acts in relation to financial institutions (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, March 1st, 2001, Meeting No. 2).

Wayne Nygren, Bill Knight, Donald Stewart, Gary Seveny and Robert Rosen made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
