The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs, Northern Development and Natural Resources met at 11:04 a.m. this day, in a video recorded session, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Raymond Bonin, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Jean-Guy Carignan, Reed Elley, John Finlay, John Godfrey, Richard Marceau, Pat Martin, Guy St-Julien, Maurice Vellacott.
Acting Member present: Deborah Grey for Gerald Keddy.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Mary Hurley and Carole Hilling, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples: Dwight A. Dorey, National Chief; Wendy Cornet, Coordinator, Governance Initiative.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of an
overview of the Indian Act. (See Minutes of Proceedings of February 19,
2002.)
Dwight A. Dorey made an opening statement and, with Wendy Cornet, answered questions.
At 12:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
