The Sub-Committee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:43 p.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.
Member(s) of the Sub-Committee present: Christiane Gagnon, John Godfrey, Eric Lowther and Diane St-Jacques.
In attendance from the Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas, Julie McKenzie and Bill Young, Research Officers.
Witness(es): From the Department of Human Resources Development Canada: Warren Edmondson, Assistant Deputy Minister, Labour Program; Gay Stinson, Director, Policy Development, Labour Program and Laurent Quintal, Senior Policy Consultant, Policy Development, Labour Program.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and its Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities (See Minutes of Proceedings of February 29, 2000 - Meeting No.15), the Sub-Committee resumed its study on the future of children and youth in Canada with particular reference to the integration of work and family responsabilities.
Warren Edmondson and Gay Stinson made statements and answered questions.
At 5:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
