MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 4

Tuesday, November 2, 1999

The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met in camera at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Pat O'Brien, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Robert Bertrand, Gordon Earle, Peter Goldring, René Laurin, Judi Longfield, Paul Mercier, Pat O'Brien, John O'Reilly, Janko Peric, George Proud, Elsie Wayne, Bob Wood.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Corinne McDonald, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of a study on Veterans Issues (Merchant Marine).

It was agreed, ─ That the letter, as amended, be presented by the Chair to the Minister of Veterans Affairs and that the letter remain confidential unless the Minister decides to make it public.

At 4:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
