The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in a televised session at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Peter Adams, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Peter Adams, Bonnie Brown, Paul Crête, Libby Davies, Jean Dubé, John Godfrey, Judi Longfield, Larry McCormick, Rey Pagtakhan, Judy Sgro, Maurice Vellacott and Bryon Wilfert.
Acting Member(s) present: Philip Mayfield for Dale Johnston.
Other Member(s) present: Pat Martin.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr and Bill Young, Research Officers.
Witness(es): From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: L. Denis Desautels, Auditor General of Canada; Maria Barrados, Assistant Auditor General, Audit Operations Branch; Theresa Duk, Principal, Audit Operations Branch; Henno Moenting, Principal, Audit Operations.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), study of HRDC Grants and Contributions
The Auditor General made a statement and with Maria Barrados and Theresa Duk answered questions.
The Chaiman noted the presence in the room of Hon. David MacDonald with a group of senior students from the School of Community and Public Affairs, from Concordia University.
At 1:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
