THIRTY-SEVENTH REPORT

On May 4, 2000, the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs adopted a motion establishing a Sub-committee on Improved Financial Reporting to Parliament. The Sub-committee met in May and June 2000, and heard witnesses from government departments, the House of Commons and the private sector on the set of draft proposals prepared by the Centre for Collaborative Government relating to the Secretariat of the Treasury Board of Canada initiative on Improved Reporting to Parliament – Phase 2.

These discussions have resulted in the adoption of the recommendations found in this report. The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs hereby adopts the following report of the Sub-committee. We acknowledge and thank the members of the Sub-committee for their dedication and and hard work.
