The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 9:07 a.m., this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, John Harvard, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Garry Breitkreuz, Murray Calder, Odina Desrochers, John Harvard, Howard Hilstrom, Gerry Ritz, Rose-Marie Ur.
Associate Member present: Rick Casson.
In attendance: From theParliamentary Research Branch - Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, Researcher; Jean-Denis Fréchette, Economist.
Witnesses: From the National Farmers Union: Darrin Qualman, Executive Secretary; Cory Ollikka, President.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee held a Briefing Session with the National Farmers Union on the farm crisis, EU subsidies, and agribusiness market power .
Cory Ollikka and Darrin Qualman made opening statements and answered questions.
At 10:35 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
