Meeting No. 25

Wednesday, May 17, 2000

The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, John Finlay, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Sue Barnes, John Finlay, David Iftody, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Derrek Konrad.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Mary Hurley, Tonina Simeone, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Sheila Fraser, Deputy Auditor General, Audit Operations; Grant Wilson, Principal, Audit Operations.

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee proceeded to its consideration of Chapter 4 of the April 2000 Report of the Auditor General of Canada (Indian and Northern Affairs Canada - Elementary and Secondary Education).

Sheila Fraser made an opening statement and, with Grant Wilson, answered questions.

At 4:00 p.m., Sue Barnes took the Chair.

At 5:13 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
