NOTICE OF MOTION

Mr. Boudria (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons) gave notice of the intention to move a motion at the next sitting of the House, pursuant to Standing Order 78(3), for the purpose of allotting a specified number of days or hours for the consideration and disposal of the report stage and third reading of Bill C-78, An Act to establish the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, to amend the Public Service Superannuation Act, the Canadian Forces Superannuation Act, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Superannuation Act, the Defence Services Pension Continuation Act, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pension Continuation Act, the Members of Parliament Retiring Allowances Act and the Canada Post Corporation Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act.

GOVERNMENT ORDERS

The House resumed consideration at report stage of Bill C- 32, An Act respecting pollution prevention and the protection of the environment and human health in order to contribute to sustainable development, as reported by the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development with amendments;

And of the motions in Group No. 1 (Motions Nos. 1 to 3, 13, 14, 26, 61 to 68, 71, 83 to 91, 93 to 97, 101, 108 to 113, 115, 117, 118, 122, 123, 128, 130, 132, 135 and 206).

PRIVATE MEMBERS' BUSINESS

At 5:30 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 30(6), the House proceeded to the consideration of Private Members' Business.

Mr. Vellacott (Wanuskewin), seconded by Mr. Konrad (Prince Albert), moved, -- That, in the opinion of this House, the government should defend section 43 of the Criminal Code in the courts and should invoke the notwithstanding clause of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms if necessary.
