Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Kilger (Stormont -- Dundas), seconded by Ms. Catterall (Ottawa West -- Nepean), Bill C-445, An Act to change the name of the electoral district of Stormont -- Dundas, was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Pursuant to Standing Orders 68(2) and 69(1), on motion of Mr. Solberg (Medicine Hat), seconded by Mr. Strahl (Fraser Valley), Bill C-446, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (removal of foreign investment limit for registered retirement savings plans and registered retirement income funds), was introduced, read the first time, ordered to be printed and ordered for a second reading at the next sitting of the House.

Motions

By unanimous consent, the Order for second reading and reference to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage of Bill C-370, An Act to amend the Holidays Act (Sir John A. The House resumed consideration of the motion of Mr. Dhaliwal (Minister of National Revenue), seconded by Mr. Scott (Solicitor General of Canada), -- That Bill C-43, An Act to establish the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency and to amend and repeal other Acts as a consequence, be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Finance;

And of the amendment of Mr. Perron (Rivière-des-Mille-Îles), seconded by Mr. Cardin (Sherbrooke), -- That the motion be amended by deleting all the words after the word ''That'' and substituting the following:

''Bill C-43, An Act to establish the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency and to amend and repeal other Acts as a consequence be not now read a second time but that the Order be discharged, the Bill withdrawn and the subject-matter thereof referred to the Standing Committee on Finance.''

PRIVATE MEMBERS' BUSINESS
