The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:45 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Antoine Dubé, Rahim Jaffer, Marlene Jennings, Jim Jones, Stan Keyes, Walt Lastewka, Ian Murray, Alex Shepherd and Susan Whelan.
In attendance: From Committees and Legislative Services: Susan Baldwin, Legislative Clerk. From the Library of Parliament: Nathalie Pothier and Antony Jackson, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association: Michael Whittaker, President, Grinners Food Systems Limited; Peter Ruscio, Vice-President, Finance and Administration, M. Pursuant to an Order of Reference of the House dated Tuesday, October 6, 1998, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-53, An Act to increase the availability of financing for the establishment, expansion, modernization and improvement of small businesses ( See Minutes of Proceedings of Wednesday, October 7, 1998, Meeting No. 60).
