The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:37 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Acting Member(s) present: Rahim Jaffer for Werner Schmidt.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Daniel Brassard and Antony Jackson, Research Officers.
Witness(es):From the Industry Canada: Timothy Garrard, Chief Information Officer; Jonathan Sunderland, Project Officer; From the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce: Robert Paterson, General Manager.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a study on Information Technology: Preparedness for Year 2000.
Timothy Garrard from Industry Canada and Robert Paterson from the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce each made a statement and with the other witness from Industry Canada, answered questions.
At 4:44 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
