Thursday, April 22, 1999

The Standing Committee on Industry met in camera at 9:02 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Vice-Chair, Eugène Bellemare, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Marlene Jennings, Stan Keyes, Francine Lalonde, Walt Lastewka, Janko Peric, Alex Shepherd and Susan Whelan.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Daniel Brassard, Research Officer.

Witness: From the Task Force Year 2000: Alain-F. Desfossés, Former Secretary.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), a study on Information Technology: Preparedness for Year 2000.

Alain-F. Desfossés made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 10:10 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
