MINUTES OF PROCEEDING

The Standing Committee on Health met at 3:35 o’clock a.m., this day, in room 209, West Block, for the purposes of electing a Chair and Vice-Chairs, pursuant to Standing Orders 106(1) and 106(2).
Members of the Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Elinor Caplan, Aileen Carroll, Claude Drouin, Dan McTeaugue, Lynn Myers, Beth Phinney, Rose-Marie Ur, Joseph Volpe, Grant Hill, Maurice Vellacott, Pauline Picard, Judy Wasylycia-Leis and Greg Thompson.
Acting Members present: Gary Lunn for Reed Elley and Caroline St-Hilaire for Maurice Dumas.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Odette Madore and Nancy Miller-Chenier, Research Officers.
The Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of the Chair.
Rose-Marie Ur moved, - That Beth Phinney be elected Chair of the Committee.
The question being put on the motion, it was agreed to unanimously on the following division:

Accordingly, Beth Phinney was declare duly elected Chair of the Committee and took the Chair.
On motion of Carolyn Bennet, it was agreed, - That Elinor Caplan be elected Vice-Chair of the Committee.
On motion of Grant Hill, it was agreed, - That Reed Elley be elected Vice-Chair of the Committee in absentia.
It was agreed, - That the Chair meet with each of the opposition parties.
At 3:42 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
