The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:11 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Claude Drouin, Wayne Easter, Charles Hubbard, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Bill Matthews, Carmen Provenzano, Lou Sekora andPeter Stoffer.

Acting Member(s) present: Paul Crête for Yvan Bernier; Roy Bailey for Gary Lunn.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.

Witness(es): From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: L. Denis Desautels, Auditor General of Canada; David Rattray, Assistant Auditor General, Audit Operations Branch; John O'Brien, Principal, Audit Operations.

Denis L. Desautels made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
