Meeting No. 26

Thursday, February 19, 1998

 

 

The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 3:30 o’clock p.m., this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, George Baker, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: George Baker, Yvan Bernier, John Duncan, Wayne Easter, Charles Hubbard, Sophia Leung, Gary Lunn, Bill Matthews, Carmen Provenzano, Paul Steckle and Peter Stoffer.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Lynne Myers, Research Officer.

Appearing: The Honourable David Anderson, Minister, Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.

 

Witnesses: From the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada : Larry Murray, Associate Deputy Minister.

 

Pursuant to Standing Orders 110 and 111, the Committee proceeded to consider the Order in Council appointment of Associate Deputy Minister Larry Murray.

 

The Minister and Larry Murray made opening statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:24 o’clock p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
