Pursuant to Standing Order 33(1), Mr. Marchi (Minister of Citizenship and Immigration) made a statement.

Presenting Reports from Committees

Mr. Speller (Haldimand -- Norfolk), from the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food, presented the 1st Report of the Committee (rbST in Canada). -- Sessional Paper No. 8510-351-6.

Pursuant to Standing Order 109, the government was requested by the Committee to table a comprehensive response.

A copy of the relevant Minutes of Proceedings and Evidence (Issues Nos 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12, which includes this Report) was tabled.

By unanimous consent, Mr. Milliken (Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), seconded by Mrs. Tremblay (Rimouski -- Témiscouata), moved, -- That the 15th Report of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, presented earlier today, be concurred in.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

Mr. Peters (Secretary of State (International Financial Institutions)) laid upon the Table, -- Notice of Ways and Means Motion to Amend the Excise Tax Act (6). (Ways and Means Proceedings No. 12) -- Sessional Paper No. 8570-351-12.

Pursuant to Standing Order 83(2), at the request of Mr. Peters (Secretary of State (International Financial Institutions)), an Order of the Day was designated for the consideration of this Ways and Means motion.

PRIVATE MEMBERS' BUSINESS

At 5:58 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 30(7), the House proceeded to the consideration of Private Members' Business.

Ms. Gagnon (Québec), seconded by Mrs. Dalphond-Guiral (Laval Centre), moved, -- That, in the opinion of this House, the government should reach agreements with the government of Quebec to reactivate the co-operative housing program, introduce a renovation assistance program for rental housing and reintroduce a social housing program, while leaving complete authority for all these programs in the hands of the government of Quebec. (Private Members' Business M-199)

Debate arose thereon.

Pursuant to Standing Order 96(1), the time provided for consideration of Private Members' Business expired and the Order was dropped from the Order Paper.
