Meeting No. 28

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met in a televised session at 11:00 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, Patricia Davidson, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Scott Andrews, Charmaine Borg, Paul Calandra, Patricia Davidson, Jacques Gourde, Hon. Laurie Hawn, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Mathieu Ravignat and Bob Zimmer.

Acting Members present: Charlie Angus for Pat Martin.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dara Lithwick, Analyst ; Maxime-Olivier Thibodeau, Analyst.

Witnesses: As an individual: Mary Dawson, Nominee for the position of Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner .

Pursuant to Standing Orders 111.1(1) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, June 5, 2014, the Committee commenced consideration of the certificate of nomination of Mary Elizabeth Dawson to the position of Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner, referred to the Committee on Thursday, June 5, 2014.

Mary Dawson made a statement and answered questions.

At 11:46 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:48 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That upon adjourment of this meeting the Committee stand adjourned until fall sittings resume. And, that upon the resumption of sittings the Committee shall be convened for the purpose of considering Committee business.

At 11:54 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
