Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Friday, September 6, 2024, the committee commenced its study of passenger rail service - VIA Rail Canada Inc. incident on August 31, 2024.

Mario Péloquin made a statement and, with Rita Toporowski and Denis Lavoie, answered questions.

At 4:19 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:27 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

By unanimous consent, on motion of Taylor Bachrach, it was agreed, — That the committee invite representatives from Unifor to appear as part of its study of Saturday, August 31, 2024 incident involving VIA Rail train 622.

At 5:22 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
