Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the committee resumed its study of use of federal government research and development grants, funds, and contributions by Canadian Universities and research institutions in partnerships with entities connected to the People’s Republic of China.

Christian Baron, Alejandro Adem, Manal Bahubeshi, Ted Hewitt, Valérie La Traverse, and Valérie Laflamme made statements and answered questions.

At 5:59 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:04 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, the committee resumed its study of the Government of Canada’s graduate scholarship and post-doctoral fellowship programs.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $49,350.00, for the study of the integration of indigenous traditional knowledge and science in government policy development, be adopted.

At 6:23 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
