The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

At 15:52 p.m., Joël Godin took the Chair.

At 16:02 p.m., René Arseneault took the Chair.

It was agreed, — That the committee undertake a study on the language obligations related to the process of staffing or making appointments to key positions; that it holds two meetings; that it hears from officials, including one hour with the Commissioner of Official Languages.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the committee on Friday, April 21, 2023, the committee resumed its study of increased Francophone immigration to Canada.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 5:41 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
