Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, November 21, 2022, the committee resumed its study on improving graduation rates and successful outcomes for Indigenous students.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $99,360.20, for travel to and attending the twenthy-third session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in New York City in April 2024, be adopted and that the Chair present it to the Subcommittee on Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

It was agreed, — That members participating at the twenthy-third session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in New York City in April 2024 depart from Ottawa to New York City, except for Lori Idlout.

It was agreed, — That the committee invite officials from Indigenous Services Canada and the Department of Justice Canada to provide a technical briefing and answer questions on the opinion by the Supreme Court of Canada on February 9, 2024, regarding An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families (C-92) at their earliest convenience, and that the meeting be held in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, November 21, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the restitution of land to First Nations, Inuit, and Metis communities.

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

At 6:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
