Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the committee resumed its study of application backlogs and processing times.

Rabea Allos, Vikram Khurana and Oliver Thorne made statements and answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

ORDERED, — That the clerk of the committee makes the necessary hospitality arrangements for an informal luncheon meeting with the Parliamentary Committee for Labour and Social Affairs of the German Bundestag from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, in Room 430 Wellington Building.

It was agreed, — That the clerk of the committee be authorized to purchase an appropriate gift to be presented to the visiting delegation from the Bundestag.

At 4:35 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:39 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

Adrienne Foster, Claire Launay and Janet M. Bigland-Pritchard made statements and answered questions.

Brad Redekoop gave notice of the following motion:

That the committee report the following to the House: that the committee condemns the persecution of minority Christians in all countries; and urges the Canadian government to provide assistance wherever possible to facilitate immigration of such individuals and families into Canada.

At 5:36 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
