The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That parliamentary interns be permitted to attend the in camera meetings regarding report consideration of the second segment on the study of vulnerabilities created and exacerbated by COVID-19.

It was agreed, — That the Second Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your subcommittee met on Thursday, May 13, 2021, to consider the business of the committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That, the committee prioritize the completion of the second segment of the study of vulnerabilities created and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic during the week of May 25-28, 2021.

2. That, the committee prioritize the completion of the study of the granting of arms export permits at the earliest possibility, identified as during the week of June 8-11, 2021.

3. That, the third segment of the study of vulnerabilities created and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic take place in the fall.

4. That, the Chair be given latitude in scheduling remaining meetings of the committee from now until the summer adjournment; and that the topics may include the agreed upon joint meeting with the Standing Committee on National Defense regarding the current situation in Ukraine; a briefing from Global Affairs Canada regarding the current situation in Israel, the West Bank and Gaza; and a briefing from United States Agency for International Development Administrator Samantha Power.

5. That the meeting requested by Members of Parliament from the Kyrgyz Republic take place, if possible, before the summer adjournment, otherwise in fall of 2021; and that the request also be shared with the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development and the Standing Committee on International Trade.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, October 22, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the vulnerabilities created and exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 5:38 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
