Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the committee on Monday, November 16, 2020, and Friday, February 26, 2021, the committee resumed its study of the relations between Facebook and the federal government.

Kevin Chan and Marc Dinsdale made statements and, with Rachel Curran, answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

Motion

Martin Champoux moved, — That the text of any substantive motion or any motion in amendment of a substantive motion be distributed in writing in both official languages to all committee members before the committee begins debate on such a motion.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

NAYS: Scott Aitchison, Lyne Bessette, Julie Dabrusin, Anthony Housefather, Marci Ien, Tim Louis, Heather McPherson, Martin Shields, Kevin Waugh — 9.

Motion

Martin Champoux moved, — That the clerk inform each witness who is to appear before the Committee that the House Administration support team must conduct technical tests to check the connectivity and the equipment used to ensure the best possible sound quality; and that the Chair advises the Committee, at the start of each meeting, of any witness who did not perform the required technical tests.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
