Minutes of Proceedings
The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Clearing the Jam: Addressing the Backlog of Disability Benefit Claims at Veterans Affairs Canada".
It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and the analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.
It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2020.
ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.
It was agreed, — That the clerk and the analyst of the committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.
At 5:27 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.
It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $1,875, for the study of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the financial health of veterans' organizations, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That members send their suggested lists of witnesses to the clerk, organized by party and in order of priority, for the study of supports and services to veterans’ caregivers and families, no later than Wednesday, January 6, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.
At 6:14 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
