The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

The Clerk gave a presentation on the financial status of the global envelope for committee activities.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee invite the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration to prepare a detailed budget related to its travel proposal for various studies (Family Reunification; People in Need of Protection on the Basis on Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity for Resettlement Trough Private Sponsorships; Modernization of Client Service Delivery; Resettling Syrian Refugees), not exceeding the amount of $100,000, and submit it to the Subcommittee for its consideration at its next meeting.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee invite the Standing Committee Foreign Affairs and International Development to prepare a detailed budget related to its travel proposal for its study on the Situation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia 25 years after the end of the Cold War, not exceeding the amount of $150,000, and submit it to the Subcommittee for its consideration at its next meeting.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee invite the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development to prepare a detailed budget related to the Subcommittee on International Human Rights travel proposal for its study on Canada’s Global Engagement on Human Rights Issues, and submit it to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets for its consideration at its next meeting.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee invite the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities to prepare a detailed budget related to its travel proposal for its study on Poverty Reduction Strategies, and submit it to the Subcommittee for its consideration at its next meeting.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee invite the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights to prepare a detailed budget related to its travel proposal for its study on Access to the Justice System, and submit it to the Subcommittee for its consideration at its next meeting.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee invite the Standing Committee on National Defence to prepare a detailed budget related to its travel proposal for its study on Canada and the Defence of North America, and submit it to the Subcommittee for its consideration at its next meeting.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee invite the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities to prepare a detailed budget related to its travel proposal for its study on The Canadian Transportation and Logistics Strategy, and submit it to the Subcommittee for its consideration at its next meeting.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee recommend that the Liaison Committee present to the Board of Internal Economy a request for an increase to the global envelope for committee activities, for the current fiscal year.

At 1:45 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
