The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Eighth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

That, the Committee invites the Law Clerk of the House of Commons, the legal counsel from the Privy Council Office and legal counsel from the Office of the Auditor General of Canada to provide a legal briefing on the law concerning the Auditor General at an in camera meeting on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, or at their earliest availability;

That the Committee review a document analyzing the Government Responses submitted to the Committee between July and December of 2017, at the next possible meeting;

That the Committee commence the study of a draft report on Report 2, Call Centres – Canada Revenue Agency of the Fall 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada on Thursday, February 1, 2018;

That the Committee commence the study of a draft report on Report 1, Phoenix Pay Problems, of the Fall 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, following the legal briefing on the law concerning the Auditor General, and continue that study on Thursday, February 8, if required;

That the Committee undertake a study on Report 3, Settlement Services for Syrian Refugees – Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, of the Fall 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, Tuesday, February 13, 2018 and invite the Deputy Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to appear;

That the Committee undertake a study on Report 6, Royal Military College of Canada –National Defence, of the Fall 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, Thursday, February 15, 2018 and invite the Deputy Minister of National Defence to appear;

That the Committee study the remaining Reports of the Fall 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, during the remaining available meeting times in February and invite the appropriate deputy ministers;

That the Committee send a letter to the Commissioner of Revenue requesting an explanation as to why senior executives at the Canada Revenue Agency are receiving substantially more performance pay than executives in other government departments, according to recent media reports;

That Clerk and analysts prepare travel budget proposals for submission to the Subcommittee on Budgets of the Liaison Committee for the next budget cycle with regard to the Committee’s participation in annual conferences in the Fall and Winter of 2018.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee resumed consideration of Report 2, Call Centres—Canada Revenue Agency, of the Fall 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Report 2, Call Centres—Canada Revenue Agency, of the Fall 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

At 5:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
