Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of Canada and the Defence of North America.

The Committee observed a moment of silence in memory of recently deceased members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Christyn Cianfarani made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:41 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:44 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee study the subject matter of Supplementary Estimates (B) 2016-17: Vote 1b under Communications Security Establishment, Votes 1b, 5b and 10b under Department of National Defence; that, in relation to the study, the Minister of National Defence be invited to appear at the earliest opportunity; and that every efforts be made to televise the appearance of the Minister.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Surgeon General to appear before Committee at his earliest convenience to study the 2016 Report on Suicide Mortality in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1995 to 2015.

It was agreed, — That the Committee do now adjourn.

At 12:59 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
