At 4:04 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:48 p.m., the sitting resumed.
It was agreed, - That notwithstanding the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday February 24, 2016, and Monday March 21, 2016, that the following calendar of activities be adopted:
• May 9: Clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-4, An Act to amend the Canada Labour Code, the Parliamentary Employment and Staff Relations Act, the Public Service Labour Relations Act and the Income Tax Act; study of Employment Insurance with witnesses and report writing instructions to the analysts;
• May 11: Study of the Temporary Foreign Workers - Ministers and Departmental Officials (3 hours);
• May 16: Study of the Temporary Foreign Workers - witnesses (2 sessions, 3 panels, 3 hours);
• May 18: Study of the Temporary Foreign Workers - witnesses (2 sessions, 3 panels, 3 hours);
• May 30: Study of the Temporary Foreign Workers - witnesses (1 session, 2 panels);
• June 1: Study of the Temporary Foreign Workers - witnesses (1 session, 2 panels);
• June 6: Study of Employment Insurance - consideration of draft report:
• June 8: Study of the Temporary Foreign Workers Program - distribution of draft report;
• June 13: Study of the Temporary Foreign Workers Program - consideration of draft report;
• June 15: Study of the Temporary Foreign Workers Program - adoption of report.
At 5:12 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:16 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.
Alison Hale, Paul Thompson, Aaron Wudrick and John Lewis made statements and answered questions.
At 5:48 p.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit for an additional 15 minutes.
