Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of the United States and Canadian foreign policy.

Carlo Dade made a statement and answered questions.

At 9:48 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:52 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Flavio Volpe and David Podruzny made statements and answered questions.

At 9:55 a.m., Dean Allison took the Chair.

At 10:01 a.m., Robert D. Nault took the Chair.

At 10:46 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:48 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $ 37,300.00, for the study of Canada's Development Finance Initiative, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of Canada's engagement in Asia, the proposed budget in the amount of $229,291.00, for the Committee’s travel to Beijing, China, Jingzhuang, China/Hong Kong, China, Jakarta, Indonesia and Hanoi, Vietnam in the Fall of 2017, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of United States and Canadian Foreign Policy, the proposed budget in the amount of $ 98,462.25, for the Committee’s travel to Mexico City, Mexico, Washington, D.C., United States and New York, New York, United States in the Fall of 2017, be adopted.

At 10:57 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
