Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of federal protected areas and conservation objectives.

Trevor Taylor, David Miller and Paul Crowley made statements and answered questions.

At 5:14 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:17 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

The Chair presented the Fourth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That the Committee hold two further meetings with witnesses on the study on federal protected areas and conservation objectives; and that these meetings be held on Tuesday, October 18th and Thursday, October 20th.

2. That the Committee meet on Tuesday, October 25th and on Thursday, October 27th to provide drafting instructions for a report on Protected Areas and Conservation Objectives unless the committee requires additional meetings with witnesses on this study and that the need for additional meetings be based on witness lists submitted.

3. That members submit witness lists to the clerk by Friday, September 30th for the study on Federal protected areas and conservation objectives.

It was agreed, — That the report be amended to delete item #2.

It was agreed, — That the Fourth report of the Subcommittee, as amended, be concurred in.

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
