Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, March 22, 2016 and section 343 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Act.

Philip Jessop, by videoconference from Kingston, Ontario, Michael Burt, S. Todd Beasley and Chris Bush made statements and, with Kerry Doyle, answered questions.

At 12:40 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:41 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $84,507.60 for the Committee’s travel to British Columbia and Alberta, during September 2016 be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the Federal Sustainable Development Act.

It was agreed, — That the motion adopted on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, entitling the report on the Federal Sustainable Development Act "Federal Sustainability for Future Generations", be rescinded; and that the report be entitled, "Federal Sustainability for Future Generations - A Report Following an Assessment of the Federal Sustainable Development Act”.

At 1:03 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
