Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, June 16, 2016, the Committee resumed its study on immigration measures for the protection of vulnerable groups.

Raija-Liisa Schmidt-Teigen, by videoconference from Duhok, Iraq, Aneki Nissan, David Marshall and John Clayton made statements and answered questions.

At 12:57 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:59 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

At 1:09 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:15 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

David Manicom and Heather Jeffrey made statements and answered questions.

At 2:07 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 2:20 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee work on a version of the draft letter to the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship in English and that the final version be translated.

At 3:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:09 p.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $39,700, for the study of immigration measures for the protection of vulnerable groups, be adopted.

At 4:25 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:08 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 6:07 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:57 p.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That the letter to the Minister be adopted.

At 7:12 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
