Julie Dabrusin moved, — That the Committee undertake a study of at least five meetings on cultural hubs and cultural districts in Canada, including their economic impacts, their effects on arts and culture in Canada, the role they play in city building, and how the federal government can foster and support their development.
The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 7; NAYS: 0.
Pierre Nantel gave notice of the following motion:
That the Committee invite the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to appear before the Committee within 45 days to discuss the efforts of the Corporation, by virtue of its mandate, to ensure the representation of First Nations, Inuit and Métis, and of francophones, and concerning the Corporation's activities in the context of the 150th anniversary of Canada.
At 4:10 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 4:11 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
At 5:10 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:16 p.m., the sitting resumed.
