Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its study of the subject-matter of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2016-17: Votes 1b, 5b and 10b under Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food.

The Minister made a statement and, with Harpreet Kochhar and Pierre Corriveau, answered questions.

At 9:45 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:51 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee undertake a national food policy review that promotes healthy living and safe food and that the Committee report its findings to the House.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $3,900, for the Briefing on Bovine Tuberculosis in Alberta, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the Committee meet informally with a member of the Legislative Council of New South Wales, Australia, on Tuesday, December 13, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of genetically modified animals for human consumption.

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

At 10:43 a.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 10:46 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
